Consulting Engineer | Development and Implementation (GMU )
Full-time. This is an exempt 1099 contract with no overtime pay, located in CONUS - Fairfax VA and across the Mid Atlantic Region. The role supports strategic delivery of Government and Public Services Sector Human Capital Solutions for the City of Charlotte (COC).
Seeking Consulting Engineer candidates with relevant Education and Academia Sector Experience (functional and technical area expertise also ideal) to support professional services engagement for Education and Academia Sector Clients such as GMU. This can be a Contract Contingent or Contract W‑2 (IRS‑1099) Development and Implementation Functional Area / Swim Lane / Category Discipline Professional – IT Consulting and Staff Augmentation Services Position; however, ProSidian reserves the right to convert to a full‑time ProSidian‑employed W‑2 position.
Job Overview
Provide services and support as a Consulting Engineer (IT Consulting and Staff Augmentation Services) in the Education, and Academia industry sector focusing on Human Capital Solutions for clients such as George Mason University (GMU) and Information Technology Services (ITS). The position is generally located in CONUS – Fairfax VA and across the Mid Atlantic Region.
Design, build, and deliver—transforming ideas into scalable IT solutions that drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Design, configure, and support infrastructure and systems.
- Troubleshoot complex IT issues.
- Implement upgrades, patches, and integrations.
- Work with platforms like M365, Splunk, and VMware.
- Participate in incident response.
- Support cloud and hybrid deployments.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years in systems engineering or infrastructure roles.
- Networking, virtualization, scripting, enterprise systems support.
- Technical depth, analytical thinking, reliability.
