Job Overview

The Consultant, Business Solutions gathers requirements and assists in work planning, development, and validation testing for cross‑functional enterprise initiatives and projects as part of an Agile and Scrum team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in project planning, story grooming, daily stand‑ups, post‑mortems, and other project‑related meetings.
  • Create a positive, accountable work environment for a growing, entrepreneurial team.
  • Analyze proposed technological solutions and develop methods to effectively test and evaluate technologies.
  • Identify and link relevant data sources to enable meaningful insights related to technology solutions.
  • Coordinate technology training and foster a positive team experience.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships for project execution and delivery.
  • Escalate project issues to appropriate stakeholders and manage risks with clarity, timeliness, and professionalism.
  • Assist the Project Manager and/or Leadership team in developing and maintaining project plans based on business requirements, timelines, budgets, and staffing resources.
  • Monitor the integration of business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with applicable departments to ensure successful project execution.
  • Document and translate requirements while linking them to business processes and potential risk and technology solutions.
  • Analyze existing business and system processes and provide recommendations for the implementation of tax automation.
  • Develop new process designs for tax automation.
  • Assist Development and QA to ensure solutions meet expected business results.
  • Validate Business Solutions solutions to meet business requirements and expected outcomes, as well as firm standards.
  • Develop and update documentation related to business and technical requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or Statistics.
  • Minimum of 6 hours of accounting coursework (or equivalent technical courses) with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a major GPA of 3.25 or higher.
  • Desire to perform business analysis in a high‑energy team environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, problem‑solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all levels.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in at least one programming, scripting, or automation language (e.g., Python, Alteryx, Automation Anywhere).
  • Experience with one or more database platforms.
  • Experience using multiple large language models (LLMs) in professional and personal contexts.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and internet research tools.

Other Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license (required).
  • Travel up to 10‑20%.
  • AZ‑900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification preferred.
  • No supervisory responsibilities for this position.

Work Environment

  • Standard indoor work setting with occasional extended periods of sitting at a computer.
  • Regular interaction with employees at all levels of the firm and with clients, both in person and via email and telephone.
  • Regular interaction with external vendors, in person, email, and telephone.
