Construction Surveillance Technician (CST)
Join IDS International's National Security Services team supporting secure & mission-critical environments. The CST supports construction security operations within a cleared environment by monitoring site activities, analyzing construction designs, and identifying potential security vulnerabilities. This role operates on an active construction site and requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, apply knowledge of surveillance detection principles, and document findings. The CST is responsible for maintaining continuous observation of construction processes and ensuring adherence to security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate inspection and surveillance equipment
- Utilize knowledge of construction disciplines, including civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineering
- Read and analyze construction designs and blueprints to determine intended use
- Analyze structural designs and complexities that may conceal unintended or unauthorized purposes
- Apply knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM) and surveillance detection principles
- Write detailed reports in English documenting findings, issues, and security situations
- Maintain daily logs during assigned shifts
Required Qualifications
- Clearance: Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly) required
- Citizenship: U.S. Citizen Age: 21 years or older *Note this is a government, not a company, requirement
- Certification: Active CST certification required
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Required Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Construction security surveillance
- Technical surveillance countermeasures
- Industrial or government security involving counterintelligence
- Construction quality assurance
- Supervisory construction experience
- Experience using alarm systems, metal detectors, x-ray devices, and closed-circuit television systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints
- Ability to analyze designs and structural complexities
- Knowledge of construction disciplines (civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, electronic engineering)
- Knowledge of Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM)
- Familiarity with IC Tech Spec, Version 1.5.1 for ICD/ICS 705
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and produce written reports and analyses
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout secure facilities for extended periods of time
- Position may require occasional lifting and/or movement of moderate amounts of weight, depending on assignment requirements
- Prior experience with NRO or NSA within the past 12–18 months for crossover suitability

Work Schedule & Conditions
Schedule: Monday–Friday Hours: Guaranteed 40 hours per week *Overtime may be available or required. Flexibility may be required based on project needs.
Compensation & Benefits
Rate: $ 46.00 per hour Benefits: Health, 401(k), PTO & Sick Leave, and Paid Holidays are available to all W2 employees of IDS *Adjusted hourly rates and daily per diem may be available for non-local and/or travel assignments.
