Construction Superintendent Position Overview

A growing general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on complex, high-profile projects throughout Indiana. This individual will lead subcontractors and field teams, coordinate with project stakeholders, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

This role will also play an important part in expanding the company's Indiana operations by helping establish field processes, mentoring team members, and supporting continued regional growth.

Primary Responsibilities

• Oversee daily on-site construction operations, including site opening, security, and daily site walks.
• Lead field teams and coordinate subcontractor activities, sequencing, manpower, and site logistics.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, including detailed three-week look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor project progress and proactively identify potential schedule delays, constructability issues, and field conflicts.
• Work closely with Project Managers, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and owners to keep projects on track.
• Lead weekly progress and safety meetings while enforcing company safety policies.
• Ensure subcontractors complete work according to contract documents, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate field reports, RFIs, and project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections, punch lists, commissioning, owner training, and project closeout.
• Mentor Assistant Superintendents and field personnel while helping establish field standards and best practices.
• Support recruiting and onboarding as the Indiana field team continues to grow.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience, including experience leading projects as a Superintendent.
• Experience overseeing projects of similar size and complexity.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience with construction scheduling software, Microsoft Office, and digital project documentation.
• Background in commercial, multi-story residential, municipal, educational, or automotive construction preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage subcontractors, maintain schedules, and resolve field issues independently.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as project demands require.
