Construction Project Manager

Hundred Mile House is a design-build firm based in Palm Springs, California. Our architecture, interior design, and construction teams work under one roof on custom residences and commercial interiors from the Coachella Valley to the coast. POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for delivering assigned projects from preconstruction through warranty. Working in partnership with a Superintendent, the Project Manager leads risk management, buyout, procurement, budget, schedule, and client communication, while the Superintendent leads field operations. Clients work with both as equal points of contact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage project risk using HMH's cost, schedule, and Trade Partner reporting, and maintain a mitigation plan for each project.
• Award Trade Partner scopes, issue purchase orders, manage bought-out cost against budget, and develop relationships with suppliers and Trade Partners.
• Coordinate just-in-time procurement and work with Field Technicians on warehouse, inventory, and site deliveries.
• Track committed and actual cost, review vendor bills, and prepare progress billing.
• Develop the project schedule with the Superintendent, and price and process change orders before changed work begins.
• Manage scope and material RFIs and submittals with the in-house design team.
• Provide each client with a written weekly update.
• Lead project closeout, including final inspection, closeout documentation, and warranty handoff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Project management experience with a general contractor or design-build firm, including responsibility for budget, schedule, and client communication on multiple concurrent projects.
• Proficiency reading construction documents and managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Working knowledge of job costing, progress billing, and lien waivers.
• Experience with construction management software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred: high-end custom residential or tenant improvement experience, particularly design-build; experience in Southern California markets; proficiency with Bluebeam; estimating experience.

COMPENSATION AND DETAILS

• Full-time, exempt.
• Salary range: $95-130k/yr.
• Benefits: healthcare subsidy, 2 weeks PTO, 401k after 1 year of employment.
• Based in our Palm Springs office, hybrid, or remote, with regular travel to job sites; a valid driver's license is required.
