Your New Company
Hays is partnered with one of Northern Virginia’s leading commercial interiors General Contractors, seeking an experienced APM or Project Manager to join its award-winning team.

Backed by a strong pipeline of negotiated work and exceptional repeat business, the company is continuing to grow and invest in its people. You’ll join an entrepreneurial, collaborative team with direct access to respected industry leaders, real autonomy, and a proven track record of promoting from within.
Your New Role
As a Project Manager, you'll lead commercial interior construction projects from preconstruction through turnover, taking full ownership of project strategy, financial performance, client relationships, and successful execution. This is not a role where you'll be buried in paperwork or managing a single long-duration project for years at a time. - Occupied Space Renovations
- Capital Improvement Projects
With dedicated support from estimating, accounting, and operational leadership teams, you'll be empowered to focus on what great Project Managers do best: driving projects, leading teams, managing clients, and delivering successful outcomes.

As Project Manager, you will serve as the primary point of contact for both clients and project teams while maintaining complete ownership of project performance. Responsibilities include:
- Managing multiple commercial interior construction projects simultaneously from award through closeout.
- Developing, managing, and forecasting project budgets and overall financial performance.
- Building and maintaining detailed project schedules and milestone plans.
- Leading buyout, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration activities.
- Managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, pay applications, and project documentation.
- Working closely with Superintendents to ensure successful field execution.
- Coordinating architects, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors throughout construction.
- Identifying project risks early and developing proactive solutions.
- Leading client meetings and maintaining strong relationships throughout project delivery.
- Monitoring project profitability and ensuring projects meet both client and company expectations.
- Driving successful project turnover and closeout.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 4+ years of experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
- Experience managing commercial interior construction projects valued between $500K and $5M+.
- Strong background in office interiors, tenant fit-outs, healthcare, government, retail, or similar commercial projects.

- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills.
- Experience working closely with Superintendents and field personnel to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
