Project Engineer Commercial Plumbing Construction | Matthews, NC $Are you currently working as a Project Engineer, Assistant Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or Field Engineer for a commercial plumbing contractor, mechanical/HVAC contractor, or commercial general contractor ?

We're partnering with a well-established commercial plumbing contractor seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects throughout the Charlotte market. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow into project management while gaining hands-on experience managing project documentation, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, procurement, and project execution.

Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, field teams, vendors, and subcontractors Review construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents Assist with procurement, material tracking, and delivery coordination Monitor project schedules, budgets, and job costs Track project progress and support schedule updates Attend jobsite meetings and project coordination meetings Support quality control, safety, commissioning, closeout, and turnover activities Maintain accurate project records, logs, and reporting

Experience supporting commercial construction projects Hands-on experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline Commercial MEP, plumbing, or HVAC project experience Experience working within a subcontractor or general contractor environment
