Overview
BluSky Restoration is hiring a Project Director to estimate and close restoration projects. Starting salary is $85,000 to $100,000 with uncapped commission potential.
Responsibilities
Principal Accountabilities:
- Sales, revenue & profit margin management
- Accounts receivable and collections
- Managing near‑term opportunities
- Business development activity
- Estimating proficiency
- Customer satisfaction
- Coordination with internal teams
Sales
- Meet or exceed monthly and yearly sales goals
- Negotiate and execute contracts on behalf of the company
- Sell all services BluSky offers
- Convert opportunities into sales
- Track and measure sales in CRM and tracking sheets
Revenue
- Oversee and expedite revenue production per monthly goals
- Ensure timely deposit, progress, and final billing with the project team
- Provide oversight to the Project Manager for revenue production
- Review and collaborate on project schedules
Profit Margins
- Develop and own the project budget in compliance with target margins
- Maintain accuracy and modify budget as needed
- Improve profitability through vendor, labor and material management
- Supervise and monitor costs to ensure margin integrity
Accounts Receivable & Collections
- Outline AR process and expectations at project start
- Understand invoicing and payment terms
- Perform weekly collection calls on all accounts
- Review AR aging weekly, manage lien rights, and follow assignments
- Maintain DSO at or below 75 days
Near‑Term Opportunities
- Close leads with clients and claims handling teams
- Communicate regularly to steer toward closing
- Document and store all communications in CRM
Business Development Activity
- Attend two business development meetings weekly with clients, adjusters, consultants
- Participate in trade shows, luncheons, award dinners, etc.
- Entertain clients as necessary to drive business and close sales
- Collaborate with Vice President and BD for all sales pursuits
Estimating Proficiency
- Accurate sketching of affected areas and use of Matterport technology
- Knowledge of T&M / Xactimate; explain T&M bill file and justify Xactimate line items
- Estimate projects to meet all target margins per service provided
Customer Satisfaction
- Consistent weekly communication with stakeholders (external & internal)
- Set expectations upfront with the customer
- Hold teams accountable for updates
- Check in with customer throughout the project
- Include all stakeholders on email threads
Working and Coordinating With Internal Teams
Mitigation
- Coordinate work authorization signing for timely response
- Walk job with technician team to define scope of work
- Share client feedback/changes in scope
- Review daily T&M sheets with Mitigation operations team
- Work directly with Mitigation operations team
- Conduct site visit at completion to confirm completed work per client expectations
Reconstruction
- Kick‑off confirming scope, target budget and margin
- Constant communication with PM throughout the project
- Get timely change orders approved
- Send weekly updates with PM
Business Development
- Communicate with BD about new opportunities for timely Salesforce entry
- Keep BD on all client email communication
- Update BD on all project changes timely
- Help BD update NTO list when both working together
Project Accountants
- Oversee completed work authorizations so PA can enter job into Vista
- Work with PA to send invoices and upload change orders
Qualifications & Requirements
- 5+ years of recent marketing/business development and sales experience in restoration or construction industry with proven sales growth
- Extensive construction estimating and/or large loss and catastrophe experience
- Must attend business development networking functions 2–3 evenings a week
- Intermediate‑level Microsoft Office skills
- Experience utilizing Xactimate and other estimating software preferred
- Experience with social media platforms such as LinkedIn preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required
- Strong knowledge of project management, financial processes, and administration required
- Strong business ethics, integrity, and ability to perform in highly autonomous environments required
- OSHA 10 or 30, CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience related to the role is preferred
Travel
- Minimal out of state travel is required; some out‑of‑area and overnight travel may be expected for training, meetings, or jobs
