DescriptionThe Construction Project Director, Mission Critical within CRB is a senior leadership role responsible for both:Delivery Oversight: Leading the execution of large-scale, mission-critical data center programs on behalf of clientsBusiness Development: Driving growth by securing new opportunities, expanding client relationships, and positioning CRB as a preferred EPCM partnerThis role acts as a trusted advisor to clients, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction activities while also contributing to revenue generation, market expansion, and strategic pursuits.This role may require travel up to 60%.ResponsibilitiesClient Representation and Strategic AdvisoryAct as the primary client interface and trusted advisor for project and program delivery.Lead strategic discussions on delivery models, phasing, risk tolerance, and operational constraints.Translate client business objectives into actionable program and project execution strategies.Provide executive-level reporting, decision support, and recommendations to client leadership.Program and Portfolio GovernanceProvide governance across multiple data center projects or campuses within a program.Establish and enforce project execution plans, standards, and controls frameworks.Ensure alignment between design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities across all stakeholders.Serve as the senior escalation point for schedule, cost, quality, and commercial issues.EPCM Delivery Oversight (Engineering, Procurement, Construction)Oversee integration of:Engineering design developmentProcurement strategies and long-lead equipment managementConstruction execution delivered by general contractorsValidate contractor schedules, cost plans, and execution strategies against client objectives.Lead constructability reviews, phasing strategies, and site logistics planning.Ensure alignment of civil, structural, architectural, MEP, and commissioning scopes into a cohesive delivery plan.Contractor and Vendor ManagementOversee and manage general contractors, trade partners, and consultants on behalf of the client.Lead RFP processes, bid evaluations, and contract negotiations.Drive accountability for contract performance, deliverables, and compliance.Manage Owner-Furnished Contractor-Installed (OFCI) equipment coordination where applicable.Cost, Schedule and Commercial ControlsProvide independent oversight of cost, schedule, and risk performance.Lead development and validation of:Budgets and forecastsCash flow and cost trackingSchedule baselines and milestonesDrive value engineering and cost optimization initiatives without compromising safety and system reliability.Ensure alignment with contractual milestones and turnover requirements.Technical Oversight – Mission-Critical SystemsProvide high-level oversight of data center MEP systems, including:Electrical infrastructure (UPS, generators, substations)Cooling systems and redundancy strategiesNetwork and IT infrastructure interfacesEnsure designs meet uptime, resiliency (N+1/2N), and scalability requirements.Oversee commissioning readiness, testing, and operational handover.Risk, Safety and Compliance GovernanceLead identification and mitigation of program-level risks, including supply chain and permitting challenges.Ensure contractors adhere to safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.Promote zero-incident safety culture and compliance assurance across all contractors.Leadership and Team ManagementLead and mentor project managers, cost managers, and technical specialists within the EPCM team.Oversee staffing models aligned to program complexity and delivery scale.Foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and collaboration across dispersed teams.Performance Monitoring and ReportingDefine KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks for program performance.Deliver monthly and executive-level reports on cost, schedule, risk, and quality.Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and standards.Business Development and Market GrowthDevelop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, hyperscalers, developers, and investorsAct as a client account leader for strategic accounts within the data center sectorIdentify opportunities for repeat business, program expansion, and new geographic marketsPursuits, Proposals and Sales SupportLead or support business development efforts, including:RFP/RFQ responsesProposal development and positioning strategiesClient presentations and interviewsDefine win strategies and differentiate EPCM services for mission-critical projectsCollaborate with internal BD teams to convert opportunities into awarded workMarket Strategy and Industry EngagementSupport development of data center market growth strategiesMonitor trends such as:Hyperscale expansionPower/energy constraintsModular and prefabrication approachesRepresent CRB in industry events, client meetings, and networking forumsBuild brand recognition within CRB as a leader in data center EPCM deliveryRevenue and Pipeline AccountabilityContribute to sales targets, revenue growth, and backlog developmentSupport forecasting of pipeline opportunities and market demandAlign delivery excellence with business growth and client retentionQualificationsEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldExperience12+ years of experience in construction/project/program managementSignificant experience in EPCM, consultancy, or owner's representative rolesProven delivery of large-scale data center or mission-critical infrastructure programsCore CompetenciesProgram and project management leadershipClient-facing advisory experienceDeep knowledge of EPCM delivery models and contract structuresStrong commercial, financial, and risk management expertiseAdvanced understanding of data center infrastructure systems (MEP-heavy)Additional InformationAll your
