Technical Project Coordinator – Structural & Ornamental SteelGrizzly Iron Inc. is a growing structural steel and architectural iron company serving high-end residential and commercial projects throughout Arizona.We are seeking a detail-oriented, technically capable Technical Project Coordinator to support both our structural and ornamental divisions. This role plays a critical part in moving projects from approved drawings into fabrication readiness.This is not a clerical role.
We are looking for someone who understands drawings, materials, and construction flow and who can help prevent mistakes before they reach the shop.The Technical Project Coordinator supports project managers and shop leadership by reviewing drawings, preparing material takeoffs and cut lists, tracking approvals, coordinating RFIs, and ensuring projects are ready for fabrication.This role bridges the gap between CAD/detailing, project management, and production.ResponsibilitiesReview structural and ornamental shop drawings for completeness and coordinationVerify dimensions, material callouts, and revision controlAssist in identifying discrepancies before fabricationTrack drawing approvals and revisionsMaterial Takeoffs & Cut ListsPrepare material takeoffs from approved drawingsGenerate and verify cut lists for shop productionCoordinate and place material orders with vendorsTrack material lead times and flag scheduling risksProject CoordinationTrack RFIs, engineering responses, and approvalsSupport project managers in maintaining project timelinesEnsure projects are fabrication-ready before release to the shopCommunicate clearly with CAD, PMs, shop leadership, and vendorsQualificationsExperience in structural steel, ornamental iron, fabrication, or construction coordinationAbility to read and interpret structural and architectural drawingsStrong understanding of construction sequencing and material flowClose attention to detail and accuracyComfortable working in a fast-paced shop environmentProficient with spreadsheets and project documentation toolsPreferredExperience with steel detailing environmentsExperience generating cut listsFamiliarity with fabrication workflowsCompensation $75,000 - $85,000 yearly About Grizzly Iron Inc.We create beautiful and timeless pieces of ironwork.
