OSP Fiber Optic Foreman | Telecommunications Construction & Maintenance
We're hiring an experienced, hands-on OSP Fiber Optic Foreman to lead fiber optic telecommunications construction, installation, repair, and maintenance throughout the Columbia Basin.
This position is ideal for an experienced Aerial Fiber Foreman, OSP Construction Foreman, Fiber Optic Technician, or Telecommunications Lineman who knows how to build and maintain aerial fiber networks, operate a bucket truck, troubleshoot outages, and lead a field crew.
This isn't a desk job. We're looking for someone who can lead from the front, work alongside their crew, and take pride in building reliable telecommunications infrastructure.
What You'll Be Doing
- Fiber Optic Installation & Repair: Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain fiber optic telecommunications cables, equipment, terminals, and outside plant infrastructure.
- Fiber Splicing & Troubleshooting: Support fiber optic splicing, cable preparation, terminations, testing, fault identification, and network restoration activities.
- Aerial Fiber Construction: Perform aerial fiber placement, strand construction, cable lashing, over-lashing, pole framing, and aerial cable installation.
- Bucket Truck Operations: Safely operate bucket trucks, hydraulic aerial lifts, and specialized telecommunications construction equipment.
- OSP Construction & Maintenance: Install and repair aerial strand, anchors, down guys, pole attachments, grounding and bonding systems, riser guards, and fiber terminals.
- Emergency Fiber Repairs: Troubleshoot damaged fiber infrastructure, restore network connectivity, and respond to emergency outages as part of an on-call rotation.
- Crew Leadership: Supervise, train, and work alongside telecommunications linemen, ground hands, and fiber installation crews.
- Project Coordination: Organize daily assignments, coordinate materials and equipment, communicate with subcontractors and municipalities, and track project progress.
- Safety & Quality: Conduct pre-job safety meetings, inspect completed work, and maintain compliance with OSHA, National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), National Electrical Code (NEC), and utility construction standards.
What We're Looking For:
- 5–10 years of hands-on telecommunications experience, particularly aerial fiber construction, installation, and outside plant maintenance.
- Strong experience with aerial fiber placement, strand installation, cable lashing, over-lashing, and pole-line construction.
- Working knowledge of fiber optic splicing, terminations, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Experience operating bucket trucks, aerial lifts, and related telecommunications construction equipment.
- Previous experience as an OSP Foreman, Aerial Construction Foreman, Lead Lineman, Fiber Optic Technician, or Telecommunications Crew Lead.
- Ability to interpret OSP construction drawings, identify field issues, and troubleshoot telecommunications infrastructure.
- Strong crew leadership, communication, organization, and jobsite safety skills.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL), or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to work outdoors, perform physically demanding fieldwork, work at heights, and participate in an emergency on-call rotation.
