Now Hiring: Construction Estimator – Chicago, IL

We’re partnering with a growing construction team in the Chicago market that is looking to add an experienced Estimator to their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in civil construction, underground utilities, or ground-up commercial construction who can help drive successful project bids from initial review through final pricing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals for upcoming construction projects.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine scope, quantities, and overall project costs.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing to ensure competitive, accurate bids.
• Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and other key stakeholders throughout the preconstruction process.
• Identify potential cost savings, scope gaps, and project risks during the estimating process.
• Support bid preparation, budgeting, and project handoff to the operations team.

Qualifications:

• Previous estimating experience in civil construction, underground utilities, sitework, or ground-up commercial construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
• Strong understanding of construction costs, labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
• Proficiency with estimating software, spreadsheets, and digital takeoff tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
