Role Overview: The Construction Director leads on-site execution of utility-scale solar EPC projects, ensuring safe, high-quality, on-time, and within-budget delivery from NTP to COD. They represent the EPC firm on-site, managing subcontractors, field teams, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all field operations for projects (20MW-500MW ), overseeing installation of PV modules, trackers, inverters, substations, and BOP.
- Manage site superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure safety, efficiency, and contract compliance.
- Drive construction schedules, control budgets, labor productivity, and handle change orders and claims.
- Ensure safety standards, conduct audits, and enforce OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Implement QA/QC programs, oversee testing, commissioning, and grid interconnection processes.
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison with clients and stakeholders, providing progress reports and resolving issues.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10 years of construction experience, with 5 years in utility-scale solar EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, substations, and grid connections.
- Proficiency with project management tools (Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Expertise in EPC project execution, contract management, and team leadership.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
Work Environment: Primarily at active project sites, often remote, with frequent travel, outdoor work, and extended hours to meet project milestones.
