The organization is focused on operational excellence, financial discipline, and scalable processes to support expansion.Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager will serve as the senior accounting leader, reporting directly to the CFO. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal controls, improving processes, and supporting operational decision-making.
The Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with FRF for SMEs and/or GAAP, and act as the primary accounting point of contact.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the month-end and year-end close processesDrive process improvements to reduce close timelines and increase efficiencyOversee all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Payroll, and PurchasingSupervise and develop accounting team workflows and performanceManage bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and cash postingsEnsure accurate and timely payroll tax filings through third-party providersProvide hands-on support in AR and AP during departmental transition periodsServe as the primary point of contact for financial reporting, including lender, surety, and prequalification requirementsDevelop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls to support audit readinessOwn monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedulesManage progress billings and maintain ownership of the AR functionAddress internal accounting issues and provide strategic guidance to leadershipImprove systems, reporting, and ERP functionality, with a focus on automation and process optimizationEnsure compliance with lien laws, including filing notices, retainage tracking, and bond claims/releasesOversee retainage tracking and reconciliation in accordance with applicable regulationsQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance7 + years of progressive accounting experience within commercial constructionStrong knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing, and WIP reportingExperience managing audit preparation and external auditsSolid understanding of lien laws, retainage, and monthly notice requirementsExperience with construction-focused ERP systemsFamiliarity with tools such as Procore, Textura, GC Pay, Levelset, or similar platformsProven leadership, organizational, and team development skillsDemonstrated ability to operate in a hands-on, high-accountability environmentCompensation & BenefitsBase salary: $115,000 – $140,000 depending on experienceMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (company covers 60% of monthly premiums)3 weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid holidaysStrong emphasis on work-life balance and sustainable workload
