Job TitleReporting directly to a Lieutenant, Sergeant, or Chief Deputy responsible for providing administrative support to the Constable's office by processing civil and criminal court orders, complaints and other documents.Examples Of Work PerformedPerforms daily intake and processing of legal documentation through computer system databasesMaintains confidential files and computer system databasesMaintains all civil and criminal documents processed by the Constable's officeProcesses and receives civil service fees and ensures daily deposits of such paymentsCreates and maintains all financial records for civil and criminal fees and warrant paymentsProvides customer service via telephone and/or in personPerforms data analysis and prepares reportsPrepares, distributes, and files billing invoices for accounts associated with civil process service feesProcesses and files all documentation associated with legal files according to State and office records management policyPerforms daily intake from U.S. Mail, interoffice mail, hand-delivered and electronic document filingsParticipates in the Tax Sale process by mailing documentation, assisting at the auction on the day of sale, and collecting payments for property purchasedPerforms quarterly audits of all receipts and invoicesPerforms special duties as assignedMust be able to perform under minimal supervisionOrganization RelationshipsReports directly to – Lieutenant, Sergeant, or Chief DeputyDirect Reports – NoPhysical DemandsPosition involves sitting, talking, listening, standing, walking, reaching, handling, bending, stooping, and light to moderate liftingPosition involves visual acuity, hand to eye coordination and manual dexterity for phone, computer, typewriter, calculator, and other office equipmentPosition involves speaking in a clear, understandable voice and hearing audible sounds such as normal conversation, radio transmissions, and audible alarmsPosition involves some driving related to errands and meetingsEnvironmental FactorsWork is primarily indoors in an air-conditioned environmentIrregular HoursWork outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be requiredRegular attendance is requiredMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalentTwo (2) years of clerical experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteMust be able to pass a thorough background investigation to be qualified and certified in TLETS-TCIC & NCIC computer operations and accessLicenses And CertificationsRequired within thirty (30) days of employmentValid driver's licensePreferred QualificationsPrior work experience in a law enforcement environment interacting with the public, attorneys, and external agenciesKnowledge of Texas civil and criminal court systemsAssociates degree in a related fieldNotary PublicEmployment TestingEmployment is contingent on passing any post-offer pre-employment screening as listed below:Criminal background check: YesMotor Vehicle Record check: YesDrug screening: YesPhysical exam: NoPsychological exam: NoAdditional: N/ASupplemental InformationA Williamson County online application (resumes alone are not sufficient) must be received before the position is closed.
