- Report to the North America Connection Systems engineering manager.
- Manage 3D model development (approximately 50% of day).
- Lead 2D print development and library release activities (approximately 15% of day).
- Conduct lab interactions (approximately 35% of day) for terminal systems.
- Lead engineering activity for assigned programs to ensure products meet customer and company specifications and that program milestones are achieved.
- Coordinate and monitor the engineering process and provide direction as required.
- Manage or lead a group of support engineers and technicians when required.
- Develop 3D CAD proposals.
- Execute design of experiments (DOE) with prototyping.
- Prepare DFMEAs.
- Lead material selection activities.
- Manage FEA and implement design changes.
- Produce drawings and stackups.
- Provide plant support (design for manufacturing).
- Perform or support customer and internal drawing releases.
What you\'ll need to be successful:
- Experience with terminal system product development, including design attributes and industry specifications.
- 3D modeling capability in CATIA V5, SolidWorks, or Unigraphics (NX); able to use CAD as a design review tool at a minimum.
- Knowledge of part design for progressive die and injection molding (cavity development).
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated communicator with a strong focus on information sharing.
- Able to work within a diverse global team with varying levels of experience.
- Able to lead a team of designers and lab technicians to desired project design goals.
- Able to follow APQP processes for project documentation.
