Connective Tissue Diseases focused Rheumatologist

AdventHealth Orlando is seeking a physician specializing in Rheumatology to join their multidisciplinary Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) program. This critical role involves the evaluation and management of patients with connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD), integrating rheumatologic expertise into the ILD care model. The successful candidate will work alongside pulmonology, transplant, and other specialty teams to enhance diagnostic accuracy, optimize autoimmune disease management, and support lung transplant evaluation and care for complex rheumatologic patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized rheumatologic care for ILD patients, with a focus on CTD-ILD
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary ILD conferences and transplant evaluation discussions
• Collaborate closely with pulmonology, transplant, cardiology, radiology, and pathology teams
• Support longitudinal management of patients undergoing lung transplant evaluation and post-transplant care
• Contribute to program development, clinical innovation, and potential research initiatives in ILD

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Rheumatology
• Demonstrated comfort and effectiveness working in multidisciplinary clinical teams (Rheumatology, ILD, Transplant)
• Deep clinical understanding of connective tissue diseases including: Systemic sclerosis, Rheumatoid arthritis-associated ILD, Myositis-associated ILD, Sjogren's syndrome, Mixed connective tissue disease
• Familiarity with or strong interest in lung transplant evaluation and care
• Commitment to collaborative care, clinical excellence, and program growth
• Fellowship training in Rheumatology
• Additional expertise or fellowship training in myositis strongly preferred
