Configuration ManagerAs a Configuration Manager at Independent Software, you will support the automation, integration, and management of software productivity and configuration management tools that are critical to project success throughout the system lifecycle. You will work closely with engineering, infrastructure, and project teams to identify, implement, and maintain efficient automated solutions that support development, tracking, change management, and configuration management processes. In this role, you will help integrate software productivity tools into enterprise environments, support process improvement initiatives, and ensure tools and supporting infrastructure remain operational, secure, and aligned with mission requirements.Key Responsibilities:Support the research, analysis, evaluation, and recommendation of software productivity and configuration management toolsInstall, integrate, configure, customize, administer, maintain, and upgrade enterprise software productivity tools and associated infrastructureAdminister and support ClearCase and ClearQuest environments, including installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshootingSupport the development and implementation of automated solutions that improve project workflows, tracking, requirements management, and configuration management processesDevelop and maintain requirements repositories and support requirements management activities across engineering teamsSupport and maintain project tracking and workflow management tools, including JIRA and similar platformsDevelop and maintain scripts and automation solutions using Perl, Bash, Shell (sh/csh), Windows Batch, Python, or similar scripting languagesDevelop, tailor, and maintain technical documentation related to software productivity tools, automation processes, and configuration management activitiesPerform backup, recovery, and maintenance activities for software productivity tool databases, datasets, and filesMonitor, track, and manage software productivity tools, licenses, and associated mediaProvide consulting, training, and hands-on support to project personnel on the effective use of software productivity toolsCollaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams to integrate tools into existing and proposed project workflows and enterprise environmentsSupport process automation, productivity enhancement, and system integration initiatives across mission-focused environmentsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Expertise installing, operating, administering, and upgrading ClearCase and ClearQuest toolsStrong knowledge of developing and implementing requirements repositoriesStrong experience using JIRA and other project management and tracking toolsGeneral scripting and automation experience using Perl, Bash, sh, csh, Windows Batch, Python, or similar scripting languagesExperience supporting software productivity, configuration management, or systems engineering tool environmentsFamiliarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), change management, and configuration management processesExperience installing, configuring, integrating, and supporting enterprise software toolsFamiliarity with IBM/Rational products, HP Service Manager, or similar enterprise productivity toolsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop clear technical documentationAbility to communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical personnelAbility to work independently and collaboratively within engineering and infrastructure teamEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline from an accredited college or university is requiredFour (4) additional years of experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, or configuration management engineer may be substituted for a bachelor's degreeMinimum of ten (10) years of combined experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, systems administrator, or configuration management engineer is requiredMinimum of six (6) years of experience as a Tools Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is requiredCertifications:Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level I certification requirementsClearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this roleWhy Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
