This program will provide an opportunity to exploit the capabilities inherent in our diverse national systems to better meet the needs of the national command authority and warfighters to detect, track, and respond to strategic threats through 2030 and beyondThe Configuration Management / Documentation Specialist will support configuration management, technical documentation, change management, and documentation control activities supporting mission-critical NORAD and USSPACECOM operations within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex environment. This role will support operational and developmental environments across space, missile warning, command-and-control, and enterprise mission systems. The ideal candidate will possess foundational experience supporting configuration management processes, technical documentation development, change control, and operational support activities within DoD, aerospace, cyber, or mission-focused environments while collaborating closely with engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams to ensure technical accuracy, audit readiness, and configuration integrity across the program lifecycle.ResponsibilitiesSupport configuration management activities including change tracking, configuration identification, status accounting, and baseline managementMaintain and update technical documentation, engineering artifacts, operational procedures, technical manuals, and system recordsSupport configuration control boards (CCBs), engineering review activities, and change management processesTrack and maintain hardware, software, documentation, and system configuration baselines across mission environmentsSupport audit readiness, compliance reviews, and documentation verification activitiesCoordinate with engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams to ensure documentation accuracy and configuration integrityDevelop and maintain discrepancy reports, change requests, technical procedures, and operational support documentationSupport version control and release management activities for technical documentation and system baselinesAssist with records management, document repositories, and document lifecycle activitiesSupport continuous process improvement initiatives focused on configuration integrity, operational efficiency, and documentation qualityEnsure configuration management and documentation activities comply with program security, operational, and quality standardsQualificationsBachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR 0+ years with Master's degree; additional four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree will be consideredActive Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required; ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI access requiredFoundational experience supporting configuration management, documentation control, technical writing, records management, or change management activities within DoD, aerospace, cyber, enterprise IT, or mission-focused environmentsFamiliarity with configuration management principles, change control processes, and technical documentation standardsExperience maintaining technical records, engineering documentation, operational procedures, or document repositoriesFamiliarity with document repositories, version control systems, and configuration tracking processesStrong organizational, analytical, documentation, and communication skillsAbility to collaborate across engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teamsAbility to support activities within a fast-paced operational environmentDesired QualificationsExperience supporting NORAD, USSPACECOM, Space Force, missile warning, or space domain awareness missionsExperience supporting satellite ground systems, command-and-control systems, or enterprise mission systemsFamiliarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, GitLab, Remedy, or similar configuration/documentation platformsExperience supporting audit readiness and compliance activities within classified or operational environmentsFamiliarity with Agile development and DevSecOps environmentsExposure to software and hardware baseline management activitiesSecurity+, ITIL, technical writing, or related certifications preferredPeraton OverviewPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.

Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
