The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full-time Computer Engineer (Supervisory) position, GS-15 at McDill AFB in Tampa, FL.

This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled by qualified candidates in the following occupations: Supervisory Computer Engineer, GS- ; Supervisory Electronics Engineer, GS- ; Supervisory Operations Research Analyst, GS- ; and Supervisory Computer Scientist GS- .

Base Salary Range: $147,945 - $192,331

Recruitment, Relocation, Retention may be available.

The primary purpose of this position is: To exercise first level supervisory and managerial authorities over professional, administrative and technical employees in the USSOC OM Chief Data Office.

This position can close at any time.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenships Required.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree in a related discipline such as computer or electronics engineering, computer science, or mathematics. A master's degree in a technical related field is highly desired.
  • This is a Mission Essential and Key Position; Active Guard and Reserve personnel may not be considered. Personnel on Ready Reserve status must be removed from status.
  • Previous government or private sector experience with research, development and delivery of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives is highly desired.
  • Professional knowledge and mastery of a broad range of engineering, mathematics, statistical analysis, modeling/simulation, and/or other scientific concepts, principles, standards, methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of agency, AF, DoD and national-level doctrine, regulations, policies, guidelines, requirements, and initiatives related to assigned program(s) and/or project(s).
  • Ability to effectively organize and analyze information; produce authoritative reports, position papers, and briefings that are responsive to the specific needs of commanders and senior management officials; present clear and concise findings; and effectively advocate for a position.
  • Skill, judgment, resourcefulness, originality, and ability to foresee the impact of changing technology and in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify, investigate, and resolve complex issues or problems.
  • Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
