Compressor TechnicianMid-Level Compression TechnicianPosition OverviewThe Mid-Level Compression Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and overhaul of industrial gas compression and engine systems used in manufacturing and production operations. This role requires solid mechanical skills, growing diagnostic ability, and the ability to work independently within established procedures while supporting safety, reliability, and plant performance objectives.Key Responsibilities / Job DutiesFollow and support a zero-incident safety culture by complying with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsSafely perform tear-downs, inspections, cleaning, and rebuilds of gas compressors and gas-driven enginesAssist with and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activitiesUse hand tools, power tools, hoists, jacks, and precision measuring instruments (micrometers, levels, squares, indicators)Utilize advanced precision measurement and alignment tools to ensure equipment accuracy and reliabilityInterpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation to complete assigned workGather and verify parts and materials required for repairs and maintenancePerform basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnostics with guidance as neededAccurately document work performed and report equipment conditionsMaintain housekeeping and equipment organization standardsCollaborate effectively with team members, operations, and supervisionDemonstrate accountability, professionalism, and a positive team-oriented attitudeWork flexible hours as required to meet operational needsPerform other duties as assigned by supervisionQualificationsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred2–4 years of hands-on experience with industrial gas compression or related mechanical equipmentWorking knowledge of gas compression systems and mechanical componentsExposure to Ariel, Gemini, CAT, and Cummins equipment preferredAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and manualsProficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and basic precision measuring instrumentsDeveloping troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently on routine tasks with established proceduresApprenticeship training or equivalent field experience preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, sit, and walk on hard surfaces for extended periodsAbility to bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and use ladders safelyAbility to lift and carry up to 50 poundsVision requirement of 20/40 (with or without corrective lenses) to read technical documentation and equipment markingsManual dexterity required to assemble, disassemble, adjust, and relocate machinery and components
