Compressor Development Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Compressor Development Engineer to support the design, development, analysis, and testing of single-stage and multi-stage compressor systems. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical design, material selection, gear and bearing design, rotor dynamics, and design validation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform material selection for compressor components based on performance, durability, and operating requirements.
• Design and develop compressor components, including gears, bearings, housings, and related mechanical assemblies.
• Conduct rotor dynamic analysis for single-stage and multi-stage compressor systems.
• Support Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities to ensure robust product design.
• Plan and develop prototype testing programs using Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies.
• Analyze test results, identify design risks, and recommend engineering improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the design, development, and validation lifecycle.
• Support design verification, troubleshooting, and continuous product improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in compressor design, development, or mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of material selection and mechanical component design.
• Hands-on expertise in gear design, bearing design, and housing design.
• Experience with rotor dynamic analysis of single-stage and multi-stage compressors.
• Knowledge of DFMEA and robust design methodologies.
• Experience planning prototype testing programs using DOE.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Verona, Virginia.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
