Compounders add raw materials and follow the formula requirements to complete production orders using equipment such as mixers, spray dryers and blending tanks. They must follow standard batch instructions to accurately weigh dyes, chemicals, and other substances into the equipment. They must check for consistency in various batches and measure the viscosity of the mixtures. Compounders are required to take samples of the batch and turn them over to a laboratory for testing.
They must follow food safety guidelines and accurate documentation of work completed.How You Will ContributeJob ResponsibilitiesFollow standard batching instructions to measure or weigh ingredients.Lifting of heavy drums and bags while wearing proper PPE.Transfer materials, set up equipment, utilize piping and parts efficientlyStrictly follow detailed instructions to monitor equipment, control temperatures and consistency of the mixes.Work in a fast-paced environment able to multi-task and perform under pressure while remaining flexible.Sample and test for various attributes from the mixes after completion.Follow sanitary guidelines for CIP and cleaning.Filling out necessary paperwork and batch sheets that accompany mixes compounded.Consistently perform assigned duties in a safe manner and in accordance with the company's safety policies.Consistently perform and complete assigned duties without errors or other defects.Qualifications and Skill RequirementsHS Diploma/GED PreferredMust have a general knowledge of workplace safety and quality processes including GMP's & AllergensMust follow safety requirements and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including steel-toed shoes, safety goggles and a mask as necessaryAttention to detail and ability to perform basic mathematics requiredProblem solve and communicate when something is wrong and to recognize/report the problemWhen required for the position, the employee must be able to wear a respirator with Doctor's approval and successfully passing the respiratory and pulmonary function testingAbility to:Manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessaryLearn and consistently follow operational and cleaning proceduresLearn and consistently complete required documentation and record-keeping requirementsWork overtime when necessaryAbility to use and read scales, accurate tare and recognize unit of measure requirements.Basic computer skills with RF scanner experience preferredAbility to manually lift 50 lbs. continuously when necessaryHourly Rate: $21.50 per hour + $1.50 shift differential + $1,000 Sign on Bonus3rd shift: Monday - Friday 11pm-7:30amDepartment: OperationsLocation: Hamilton, OHWork Arrangement: OnsiteReporting To: Production SupervisorOur Commitment to Our PeopleWe are a diverse and growing workforce of over 1,000 people across eight countries globally.
