There are plans to expand this facility within the next year.Job DescriptionThe Production Compounder is responsible for the accurate weighing, checking and mixing of specific chemical compounds for product formulations.
The Production Compounder will be calibrating and monitoring a variety of mixing machinery and accurately documenting and maintaining production logbooks and records. Production Compounder candidates will need good computer skills and the ability to learn quickly.Essential Duties:Weigh out raw materials according to a batch cardResponsible for safe operations of forklift and all material handling equipment within the work areaMaintain a safe working environment, utilize appropriate safety equipment and proactively improve the safety culture of the departmentMaintain processing area and equipment in a clean, sanitary and presentable condition; adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices and exemplary housekeeping standardsAbility and willingness to work as part of a team to solve problems, develop procedures, and recommend improvementsPerform other duties as assigned including handling and moving of chemicalsDevelop policies and procedures to maintain the organization's long term competitive position and profitability in the marketPhysical Requirements:Ability to tolerate sustained standing/walking up to 10-to-12-hour shiftsAbility to carry, twist, push, pull products and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to utilize good eye-hand coordination.Required Experience, Skills, and Education:Experience working in production as a Chemical Compounder, Chemical Operator, Pre-Weigh Technician, Raw Material Handler or related in a chemical, pharmaceutical or personal care companyWorking experience in a manufacturing lab or a pharmaceutical manufacturerAbility to do any physical work necessary (climbing ladder, fitting into tight spaces, lifting heavy containers, etc.)Ability to operate a forkliftCan comfortably work in hot areasWorking knowledge of kettlesMust be able to work in an industrial environment, standing and walking around as much as 90% of the dayMust be able to handle physical work as needed; may need to lift as much as 40lbAt least one year working experience in a lab environment or compounding fieldAbility to communicate effectively with other team membersAbility to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentMust have the ongoing right to work in the U.S. without sponsorshipHigh School Diploma or GEDProficiency in basic computer skillsSafety:Treats safety and housekeeping as a non-negotiablePerforms all required safety and housekeeping auditsLead/ Participate in department safety incident investigationsIdentify safety issues and immediately implement countermeasures, involving the right resourcesCreates an environment and team attitude that delivers zero risk, zero near misses, zero treatment reports, zero recordablesEnsure all other safety goals of the team are metQuality:Treats quality as a non-negotiableEnsure all required quality checks are completed each shiftCommunicate quality issues to the right resources and respond in a timely fashion
