Composites TechnicianLocation: Charlotte, North CarolinaSummary: As required, manufacturing composite parts using predominantly pre-preg materials utilizing industry standard lamination techniques. Reporting to the production supervisor you will be responsible for finishing composite parts and assemblies.Essential duties and key responsibilities include the following:While using scissors, stir sticks, and razor blades, the composites technician may be responsible for molding carbon fiber material utilizing the bagging process to mold parts.Breaking out / demolding cured partsResponsible for utilizing hand tools, such as a handheld grinder, to shape/trim parts and molds to specificationsAlways maintain a clean and organized work environmentPrepare molds and pre-preg patterns for productionLamination of composites components following drawings and or lay-up manualsPreparing laminated parts for autoclave or oven curing utilizing vacuum bagging techniquesLoading and unloading autoclavesAdhering to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standardsPro-active in parts development and improvementsTrimming / finishing / assembly of composites partsQualifications:Strong communication skills, both written and verbalIT literateAmbition – has the drive to achieve personal targets.Able to work independently or in small teamsDetail-oriented – pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.Innovative – ability to look beyond the standard solutions.Persistence – ability to complete tasks or continue in a course of action despite opposition or discouragement.Self-motivated – ability to be internally inspired to perform a task to the best of one's ability using his or her own drive or initiative.Technical aptitude – ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.Working under pressure – ability to complete assigned tasks in stressful situations.Time management – ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.Education/experience:Mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of operating basic hand tools, is required.
