Compliance SpecialistCopperPoint has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Specialist. In this role, you'll help develop and administer an effective regulatory compliance program that ensures adherence to state regulatory and statutory requirements. You'll research and resolve compliance issues, communicate with regulators, and support the organization's commitment to maintaining a strong culture of compliance while partnering with internal teams to identify risks, implement solutions, and promote regulatory best practices.Job Responsibilities:Participates in the administration and oversight of compliance programs for all jurisdictions and product lines written by CopperPointWorks with the CCO, VP Compliance, Legal Compliance team and Compliance Oversight Committee to assist CopperPoint departments to develop and implement compliance programs that include: identification of applicable regulatory requirements, creating control plans to ensure compliance, monitoring for changes to compliance requirements, identifying areas of non-compliance and implementing and tracking actions to restore complianceAssists in coordinating and administering licenses held by the CopperPoint group and in making required filings to maintain those licenses with state insurance departments, secretaries of state, corporation commissions, etc.Coordinates and maintains log of responses to regulatory matters and/or inquiries from regulatorsWorks with attorneys and Compliance team to research, document, communicate and track compliance-related legal and regulatory changes and information arising from bulletins and other information issued by regulatory and non-regulatory authorities affecting lines of business written by CopperPoint and follows up to ensure implementation of necessary changesAssists in reviewing new and revised insurance products, policies and other required forms to ensure compliance with state regulatory and statutory requirements and in making required filingsAssists in coordinating regulatory examinations and audits (i.e.

financial exams, market conduct exams) and responses to data calls and surveysManages regulatory/compliance software as neededPerform other compliance, legal and administrative tasksSupports the Compliance Committee, ad-hoc and special projectsHelps to develop, implement and continually improve processes and proceduresPrepares reports and metrics for the compliance team, as neededQualifications/Competencies:Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 1-year previous experience in corporate compliance, legal, risk management, insurance compliance or internal audit environment preferred.Corporate regulatory compliance experience is a strong plus.Research skills to perform legal and compliance research using online insurance and legal resourcesOrganizational skills to effectively and efficiently work with large volumes of documents and dataAbility to analyze complex compliance issues, evaluate alternatives, and recommend creative solutionsEffective presentation skillsTeaming skillsStrong analytical skills with the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple tasksAdvanced skill in Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Word, including redlining/tracked changes to contracts during negotiations.Proficient with collaboration software including Teams and SharePoint.Self-driven with a desire to independently expand knowledge on relevant legal, compliance and business topicsStrong initiative and problem-solving skillsDetail orientedResearch and analytical skillsWillingness to research unfamiliar areas and gain expertiseAbility to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive informationStrong work ethic with ability to work independentlyBenefits: Employees and their families are eligible to participate in CopperPoint Insurance Companies benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, a health savings account, a flexible spending account, and a 401k plan. Employees will accrue 0.0769 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 20 days a year.

In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Salary Range: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually Compensation may vary dependent on skills, experience, education, and geographical location. In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.
