Research & Development (R&D) Compliance SpecialistThe R&D Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all research, design, and product development activities meet applicable regulatory, safety, and internal compliance standards. This role partners closely with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to support the development of innovative products while maintaining full compliance with industry regulations and company policies.Key Responsibilities:Ensure all R&D activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ANI/ISO)Review product designs, materials, and specifications to confirm compliance with safety and environmental requirementsMaintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for product testing, certifications, and approvalsSupport product validation and testing processes to ensure compliance prior to production releaseAssist in internal and external audits, including preparation of required documentation and responsesMonitor and interpret changes in regulatory requirements and communicate impacts to relevant teamsPartner with Engineering and Quality to address compliance risks and implement corrective actionsParticipate in new product development meetings to ensure compliance is integrated early in the design processDevelop and maintain compliance procedures, checklists, and best practicesSupport incident investigations related to product compliance or safety concernsQualifications:Education & Experience:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Quality, or a related field preferred2–5 years of experience in compliance, quality, or R&D within a manufacturing environmentKnowledge & Skills:Working knowledge of regulatory standards such as ANI/ISO and applicable manufacturing guidelinesStrong understanding of product testing, validation, and documentation processesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to interpret technical data and regulatory requirementsStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departmentsProficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in outdoor power equipment, automotive, or heavy manufacturingFamiliarity with ISO standards (ISO 9001, etc.)Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspectionsWork Environment:Manufacturing and office settingExposure to production areas, equipment, and testing environmentsMay require occasional lifting, standing, and walking through production facilities
