Under the direction of the Compliance Officer the main duties for this position include:

  analysis of professional coding and billing data

Duties/Responsibilities:

n
• n

  Analysis of coding and billing data, identification of trends and aberrations

  n
n
• n

  Performance of routine and investigatory audits evaluating compliance with applicable laws, regulations, coding, and billing guidelines

  n
n
• n

  Interpretation of coding, billing, and regulatory standards

  n
n

Preparation and completion of audit reports including recommendations, education and corrective action.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  Strong computer skills specifically Microsoft word and Microsoft excel applications

  n
n
• n

  Strong analytical, problem-solving and time management skills

  n
n
• n

  Expertise in report writing and oral communications

  n
n
• n

  Ability to interpret regulations, payment and reimbursement systems, billing and coding guidelines and apply standards

  n
n
• n

  Familiarity with health information and/or medical records

  n
n
• n

  Able to organize work, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines

  n
n
• n

  Maintains a professional and cooperative attitude with providers, co-workers and employer

  n

• n

  Able to maintain confidentiality of all patient information and compliance related information.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree and 2 years experience in healthcare setting. CCCS-P, CCCS, CPC, RHIA or RHIT required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree; Coding and auditing experience preferred.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday daytime hours
