Compensation Manager
Job Summary
Piper Companies is seeking a Compensation Manager to support a growing life sciences organization. This position is Remote.
Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders and HR teams to develop and support compensation strategies and programs.
- Lead complex compensation analyses, market pricing, and salary benchmarking initiatives.
- Oversee job evaluation, job architecture, career framework, and compensation structure projects.
- Administer and support base salary, annual merit, short-term incentive, and long‑term equity compensation programs.
- Analyze compensation trends and provide recommendations to ensure market competitiveness.
- Participate in compensation surveys and translate findings into actionable business recommendations.
- Develop executive‑level reports, presentations, dashboards, and compensation models.
- Support compensation system optimization and HRIS platforms, including Workday.
- Lead compensation‑related projects and process improvement initiatives across the organization.
- Educate managers and HR partners on compensation philosophy, pay practices, and compensation governance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Psychology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive compensation experience within an HR function.
- 3+ years of compensation experience supporting the life sciences industry, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or healthcare organizations.
- Demonstrated experience administering incentive compensation and equity/stock‑based compensation programs.
- Advanced expertise in compensation analysis, salary structures, market pricing, and job evaluation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience analyzing large datasets and developing compensation models.
- Experience with compensation management systems such as PayFactors, MarketPay, CompAnalyst, or similar platforms.
- Workday experience strongly preferred.
- Strong presentation, communication, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a related discipline.
- CCP, GRP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
- Experience supporting large‑scale compensation transformation projects.
- Experience within a publicly traded life sciences organization.
- Additional experience across broader Total Rewards functions.
Compensation
Salary Range: $121,000-$165,000 annually *based on experience*
