Community Loan OfficerThis position is responsible for developing new business through the underwriting, structuring, and closing of consumer loans, as well as maintaining and servicing an existing portfolio. Represents First United in the community through active participation in community affairs and participates in marketing all of the bank's products and services.Major duties and responsibilities include analyzing credit history of applicants and determining loan repayment capabilities, negotiating credit terms, developing and maintaining interest rate structure, evaluating potential customer loan requests, maximizing bank profitability, reviewing new laws and regulations, supporting relationship banking culture, developing new customer prospects, handling customer complaints, collecting past dues, maintaining high level of integrity, completing compliance exams, adhering to all First United policies and procedures, and dressing professionally.Employee specifications include a bachelor's degree in business or finance, two to four years experience preferably in a financial institution or consumer loan department, experience in agricultural lending strongly preferred, extensive knowledge of lifecycles of loans, excellent leadership, communication, organizational and analytical skills, exceptional customer service skills, good judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills, ability to take the lead in development and completion of projects, computer and software proficiency, strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well with customers, dependability, and adherence to time lines and schedules.
