JOB SUMMARY:
The districtwide Community Learning Center Coordinator will provide oversight for the day-to-day operations of out-of-school (OST) programs at each elementary school, the middle school and high school; supervise and evaluate staff; complete mandated reporting to funders; and create a vision for implementing high-quality programming.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree required (in education or related field, preferred) and five years' related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and implement out-of-school time academic and youth development programming.
• Demonstrated ability to lead staff and provide supervision for high-quality programming.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze data and respond appropriately for strong, positive outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to establish positive and professional relationships with youth and adults.
• Demonstrated high level of organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency with current technology, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide oversight into the day-to-day operations of all OST programs.
• Act as the point of contact for Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.
• Establish relationships with community and school partners who have a shared vision for the students at Covington Independent Public Schools to create a coordinated effort to implement 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.
• Utilize a variety of data to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of our students during out-of-school time.
• Determine programming needs based on input from youth, families, school and district staff, and other adults in the school and surrounding community.
• Ensure family engagement activities are implemented at each site across the district and reported to KDE appropriately.
• Provide support to CLC coordinators through one-on-one meetings and regular site visits.
• Complete all mandated reports for grants and funders.
• Develop and coordinate a comprehensive schedule of youth and adult activities during non-school hours (before, after and summer) focused on students' academic needs.
• Identify school and community (non-financial) resources that would benefit the 21st Century Community Learning Center program.
• Recruit, supervise, and develop a diverse CLC coordinator staff who provides high-quality programming for students and families.
• Regularly analyze quantitative and qualitative data for continuous improvement.
• Adhere to all guidelines as outlined by the 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.
• Develop a communication plan for informing potential participants, families, community partners, and school personnel about available opportunities in the program.
• Participate in training to develop and enhance skills to meet job duties.
• Additional related duties as identified by the Director or Superintendent.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Director of Community and Family Engagement
CONTRACT: 235 days - 35 hours/week (typically, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
SALARY: Depends on years of experience. Refer to salary schedule on CIPS website.
*Days and Salary will be adjusted for the balance of the contract year.
