Community Initiatives Program CoordinatorPosition Type Full Time Job Shift Day Category Nonprofit - Social ServicesDescriptionThe Program Coordinator supports the operational and programmatic needs of the Community Initiatives Department. This role provides cross-functional support for a range of programs—including the Community Cat Program, Pets in Crisis Support Program, Pet Connectors, and additional department initiatives—ensuring cohesive implementation, coordination, and community engagement.Key ResponsibilitiesCommunity Cat Program SupportAssist with TNR (trap-neuter-return) operations, logistics, and data entryCoordinate delivery of traps and kitten kits to affiliates or volunteersSupport trapping events, volunteer engagement, and program communicationsAssist with the Neighborhood Ambassador Program by preparing outreach materials and supporting communications and event logisticsPets in Crisis SupportProvide back-up and administrative support to the Pets in Crisis Coordinator as neededPartner & Affiliate Relationship ManagementServe as the point of contact for local partners, addressing inquiries and ensuring smooth collaborationDevelop, maintain, and strengthen placement partnerships with rescue groups and community organizations, ensuring alignment in mission, philosophy, and approachMaintain consistent communication with partner agencies to identify needs and deliver appropriate services and resourcesPartner Membership Model ManagementLead recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of member organizations participating in the AHS Partner Membership ModelManage communications, renewals, and records related to partner benefits, such as adoption showcases, discounted vet services, event space usage, training access, and Food & Supply Bank resourcesCoordinate training sessions, partner meetings, and collaborative events to strengthen relationships and build capacity among membersDevelop systems and processes to ensure the model is scalable, transparent, and value-driven for both AHS and its partnersEvents & Outreach CoordinationIn coordination with the Director of Community Initiatives, plan and execute department-led outreach events including community workshops, conferences, and educational eventsWork collaboratively with other departments to manage logistics such as venue setup, volunteer coordination, community partner communication, and preparation of promotional materialsRepresent the department at tabling events, speaking engagements, and collaborative outreach activitiesSupport company-wide events and initiatives by providing coordination, setup, and follow-through, as neededCross-Departmental CollaborationWork closely with Community Engagement, Animal Health, Shelter Solutions, and Statewide Teams to ensure cohesive execution of programming, engagement opportunities, and branding expectationsAssist with aligning locally focused Community Initiatives work with Statewide thought leadership while ensuring both remain distinct and complementaryQualificationsExperience in program coordination, community outreach, or animal welfare strongly preferred.Strong multitasking, organization, and administrative skillsEffective communicator, both orally and in writingPassion for serving people and animals in underserved communitiesProficient in Microsoft Office and data entry platformsFluency in second language, especially Spanish, a plusValid Georgia driver's license with favorable driving record; insurable by AHS insurance providerWilling to frequently travel locallyWork Location & ConditionsThis position requires a consistent in-office and field presence at AHS locations, including Roswell, Marietta, Norcross, and AtlantaHeavy travel between sites is required to support programs, events, and community-facing activitiesThis is not a remote work positionAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. with reasonable accommodationsFrequent bending, standing, and lifting during outreach and transport activitiesFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by events and program needsComfortable working around cats and dogs of various sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions
