CDS Instructor/Trainer
An Instructor/Trainer in CDS develops and facilitates lesson focused programming centered on integration into Chicagoland communities. Candidates should feel comfortable finding, developing, and accessing community partners with participants on a daily basis. Ideal candidates would engage with community organizations, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. A CDS Instructor/Trainer may also be asked to assist with employment centered training (job coaching) off site. The ideal candidate would be comfortable under high pressure situation, and handling emergency situations on the spot, and with daily routine changes occurring with little advanced notice due to nature of community focused programs and activities.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one-year experience working with persons with intellectual disabilities
- Has a valid Illinois driver's license, good driving record, and is comfortable driving vehicles of all sizes.
- Ability to work without direct supervision the entire shift, and positively represent Misericordia
- Ability to interact with community members with ease and confidence
- Ability to demonstrate reliability, flexibility and adaptability
- A high degree of professionalism
- Committed to ensuring the rights of the residents
- Ability to develop lesson plans, goals and objectives
- Ability to develop quality services with an emphasis on quality community-based programming
- Basic computer and writing skills
- Committed to meeting Misericordia's high environmental, personal care and active treatment standards
- Ability to organize, manage resources, meet deadlines and work independently
- Ability to meet CDST/CDSI essential functions
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with ability to flex based on program needs
