Aviation Safety Program SupportSeeking qualified professionals to support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Aviation Safety (AVS) programs through development of technical documentation, communications, and mission support activities translating complex aviation, operational, and regulatory information into clear, actionable products across the National Airspace System (NAS). This role supports high-impact aviation safety initiatives, modernization efforts, and emerging technologies shaping the future of the National Airspace System (NAS).Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, draft, revise, and edit technical documentation, including reports, guidance materials, manuals, and stakeholder-facing productsTranslate complex aviation, operational, and regulatory information into clear, accessible content for Government, industry, and public audiencesSupport development of technical communications and outreach materials related to aviation safety, NAS performance, and emerging technologiesAnalyze and organize content to improve clarity, usability, and consistency across documentation and communication products, including 508-compliance and accessibility oriented technical communicationsCollaborate with technical subject matter experts and multidisciplinary teams to develop accurate, high-quality documentation and communication productsApplicant PreferencesExperience developing stakeholder-facing communications, executive briefings, or high-visibility outreach materials for technical or aviation programsDemonstrated ability to translate complex aviation, operational, or regulatory concepts into clear, audience-appropriate products for diverse stakeholder groupsExperience supporting communication strategies or outreach efforts for FAA, Government, or regulated technical programsExperience producing or managing technical documentation or communications across multiple formats, audiences, or delivery channelsExperience working with FAA Headquarters and supporting cross-organizational collaboration and executive-level communicationsCommunications SpecialistQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in communications or related field and five years of experience is required in an aviation related field, such as air carrier operations, military aviation, air traffic control, instrument procedure development, or flight standardization board pilotsBachelor's degree may be waived with eight years of experience in performing the above dutiesU.S. Citizen or Green Card Permanent Resident (minimum 3+ years of U.S.
