Communications Technician II
Total Safety is looking for a Communications Technician II to join their safety conscious team! The Communications Technician II provides service and repair for communications equipment which typically includes all aspects of Motorola two-way radio systems. Essential duties include performing shop service and/or field repair of communications equipment, overseeing the work of other technicians, completing all documentation associated with inspection and repair, conducting detailed visual inspections and system functional tests, assisting others in facilities, maintaining work areas, performing basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer, and learning to rig-up and use a wide range of safety and rescue equipment. Skills and experience include demonstrated ability to operate electronic safety equipment, ability to troubleshoot and diagnose assigned equipment problems, knowledge of regulatory standards, and ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Working environment includes shop and yard environment, exposure to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration, and high pressure, chemicals, and shop traffic. Educational requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one (2) year of field experience in communications, fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry. Associates degree, technical or military training strongly preferred.
