Communications Dispatcher

Dispatcher – Private AmbulanceCoastal Ambulance is seeking dependable, detail-oriented professionals to join our Communications team as Dispatchers. This role is critical to daily operations and patient care, serving as the central point of coordination between hospitals, medical facilities, field crews, and internal departments.Success in this position requires strong communication skills, excellent judgment, accurate data entry, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment. Dispatchers manage ambulance transports, prioritize incoming requests, coordinate field resources, and help ensure every patient transport is handled efficiently and accurately.Reliability matters.

Accuracy is critical. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in being organized, dependable, and able to think critically under pressure.This position works rotating 12-hour shifts on a repeating two-week schedule and may include day shifts, overnight shifts, alternating weekends, holidays, and built-in overtime depending on shift rotation. As a 24/7/365 healthcare operation, scheduling may include evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, hurricanes, tropical storms, and Mass Casualty Incidents (MCI).In addition to base pay + time and half for all hours over 40 per week, all Operations employees, including this position, receive shift differentials as follows:Overnight, non-weekend days – Additional $4.00 per hourWeekend Days – Additional $4.50 per hourWeekend Overnights – Additional $5.00 per hourCoastal Ambulance provides specialized ambulance transport services throughout Brevard County and beyond, including BLS, ALS, SCT, interfacility transports, same-day appointments, and critical care transports.In addition to private ambulance services, we also support Brevard County's 911 system through the Treat and Transfer protocol and assist Cape Canaveral Fire Department with 911 coverage during periods of increased operational demand.The Communications team plays a vital role in keeping that system moving.
