Advertised Job Summary - The Communications Graphic Designer will work as part of the team responsible for SC TEACHER's communications brand and the expansion and implementation of communications strategies and policies to support the strategic goals of SCTEACHER. As part of the communications team, this position will have responsibilities spanning research report design; creation of graphics for social media, marketing, and team presentations; and event preparation and setup, along with other opportunities to support overall communications and operations.

Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience - Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 2 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.

Required Certification, Licensure/Other Credentials

Preferred Qualifications - Strong skills with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator and InDesignAbility to apply visual design principles and specific brand guidelines to any projectStrong visual communication skills, including presentation creation and brand adherenceExperience with project management and/or event coordination

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Demonstrated experience with Adobe illustrator and inDesignAttention to detail and organizational skills.Familiarity with web design andHTMLAbility to proofread and follow a style guideExperience with a project management system (e.g., Monday, Asana, Basecamp)

Job Duties

Job Duty - Graphic Design: Execute and coordinate graphic design of research materials such as monthly reports and data visualization. Collaborate with members of communications and research teams to take ideas from early draft to full design, both print and online, using design principles and brand adherence.

Job Duty - Marketing Materials Creation: To further encourage stakeholder engagement with research and events, design and support creation of marketing materials such as postcards, handouts, flyers, and event materials, in accordance with the SCTEACHERbrand and team goals. Support brand development through graphic design and visual assets.

Job Duty - Event Preparation and Coordination: Collaborate with event facilitators, operations team, and communications team to prep necessary materials for SCTEACHERevents, such as swag, handouts, branded décor, and items for facilitation. Work across teams to establish, gather, and transport materials for successful event execution.

Job Duty - Project Management: Contribute to the team's overall organization and efficiency by tracking project goals and steps to achieve those goals, as well as relevant discussions and important information, in project management system (Basecamp).
