Program Manager, ArizonaWe are looking for a collaborative and highly organized Program Manager to join the Common Cause team in Arizona. In this role, you will lead and implement state programmatic efforts, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and coordinate advocacy activities to support our programmatic agenda. You will play a key part in advancing our mission to protect democracy and ensure the fair and equitable representation of all communities.This is a full-time role reporting to the State Director and based in Arizona, with an expectation to travel around the state at least 2 days per week (up to 4 times per week during legislative session and election season).
We hope our new Program Manager will start in August.ResponsibilitiesLead the execution of statewide advocacy campaignsSupport coalition work, including managing working groups or project groups within coalitions, organizing meetings, coordinating actions, and ensuring effective communication among coalition membersOversee election protection program, ensuring effective communication and coordination of outreach efforts to Common Cause Arizona members and Election Protection Arizona Coalition members to safeguard voting rights and the electoral process, as well as all relevant responsibilities in managing the program on behalf of the coalitionLead policy research, analysis, and the identification of opportunities for policy proposals to advance Common Cause's statewide goalsDraft, edit, and disseminate policy briefs, reports, and advocacy materials to inform and engage decision-makers and stakeholdersMonitor state and local legislative developments, track relevant bills, and provide strategic guidance to ensure timely responses to policy opportunities and threatsExecute lobbying efforts for designated legislation, including drafting and managing testimony, public comment, and other advocacy toolsOutreach and stakeholder engagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, partners, and members to strengthen Common Cause's network and extend our outreachIn collaboration with the State Director and Election Protection Organizers, execute outreach campaigns to educate the public on priority issues and encourage active participation in advocacy effortsLead Arizona's implementation of Common Cause's One Million Conversations campaign by mobilizing and training volunteer conversation hosts to engage neighbors in values-driven dialogue, and track outcomes to drive state and national organizing strategyRepresent Common Cause at community events and coalition meetings to strengthen public awareness and mobilize supportCoordinate digital and social media campaigns to engage members and stakeholders, ensuring messaging aligns with Common Cause's values and goalsSupervise temporary staff and internsManage temporary staffRecruit, train, coordinate and mentor interns and volunteersProvide fundraising and advisory board supportSupport fundraising efforts, including writing grants, cultivating donor relationships, and managing reporting requirementsAssist with administrative tasks including organizing meetings, preparing materials, and facilitating effective board engagementPerform administrative and other dutiesComplete administrative tasks as neededPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsA strong commitment to Common Cause's nonpartisan mission and to advancing civil rights through our pro-democracy agendaA commitment to equity in the goals of your work and in how you work with othersOpenness to feedback and awareness of your own strengths and areas for growthAbility to build rapport, trust, and credibility with multiple stakeholders with diverse interests, and a track record of working collaboratively with othersAbility to manage and meet deadlines for multiple short- and long-term priorities at once, with high attention to detail;
