Join us and design your place with Stantec.Stantec's Commissioning & Building Performance team helps clients ensure their building systems perform as intended from day one and throughout the building lifecycle. As a Commissioning / Validation Specialist, you will support the delivery of high-quality commissioning services by assisting with system testing, performance verification, and documentation for mechanical and HVAC systems. You will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, contractors, and owners to help confirm systems meet the Owner's Project Requirements (OPR) and Basis of Design (BOD).Your Key Responsibilities:Assist in the commissioning and validation of HVAC and mechanical building systems across a variety of project typesSupport the planning and execution of functional performance testing activitiesReview and analyze test data, including airflow, temperature, pressure, and system responses, to verify performanceParticipate in troubleshooting system performance issues and coordinating corrective actions with the project teamAssist in tracking and documenting commissioning deficiencies and resolutionsMaintain organized commissioning records, logs, and test documentationContribute to the preparation of commissioning reports, including functional test results and system observationsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, contractors, and owners throughout project deliveryYour Capabilities and Credentials:Working knowledge of HVAC systems, Building mechanical equipment and Building automation systems (BAS)Familiarity with commissioning processes, functional performance testing, and building performance verificationAbility to interpret technical data, drawings, specifications, and system documentationStrong attention to detail and ability to document findings clearly and accuratelyEffective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environmentAbility to prioritize tasks and work across multiple projects simultaneouslyProficiency with standard office and reporting software; commissioning software experience is an assetEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Systems, or a related discipline preferred3 or more years of related experienceRelated experience in commissioning, validation, HVAC systems, or building performance preferredEquivalent combinations of education and related experience will be consideredTypical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required.

Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
