The Commissioning Provider will collaborate internally with the Building Performance Services and Project Management teams, as well as externally with clients, to support the successful planning, management, and delivery of a variety of building performance consulting services. Responsibilities will span multiple service lines, with time allocated based on project workload, client needs, and team priorities.
This position is preferably based in the Orlando, Florida area to support our growing Southeast market and facilitate regular travel to project sites throughout the region. Candidates located elsewhere may be considered based on qualifications and relevant experience.

Duties & Responsibilities Include:
Support and Lead New Construction Commissioning Projects with:
Implementing the commissioning plan and scope for new construction projects.
Support senior commissioning professionals through each phase on larger projects and lead on smaller projects: design, construction, acceptance, and occupancy.
Help ensure that systems are installed and operating per the owner's project requirements (OPR) and design intent.
Conduct on-site inspections to verify system installations and equipment readiness.
Develop pre-functional and functional performance testing (FPT) of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Document deficiencies and assist with tracking corrective actions (issue log or punch list management).
Review design drawings and equipment submittals for commissioning implications under guidance.
Identify coordination issues, missing information, or inconsistencies between specifications and actual site conditions.
Gather field data including equipment nameplate info, system operational readings, and controls trend data.
Help analyze system performance and support the development of test results and commissioning reports.
Maintain detailed field notes, test checklists, and commissioning logs.
Contribute to the development of commissioning deliverables including test protocols, deficiency reports, and final commissioning reports.
Organize and archive commissioning documentation per project standards.
Coordinate testing schedules with contractors, vendors, and project teams.
Attend project meetings and document commissioning updates and task status.
Communicate clearly with trade contractors and help relay field observations to the commissioning lead.
Support and Lead Existing Building Commissioning (EBCx) Projects
Conduct field inspections and surveys to assess existing building systems (HVAC, lighting, controls, etc.).
Participate in Functional Performance Testing (FPT) under supervision for larger projects and potential lead smaller projects.
Collect and compile data from Building Automation Systems (BAS), utility bills, and equipment logs.
Use trending and logging tools to evaluate equipment and system performance.
Identify patterns or anomalies in system operations and report findings to the commissioning lead.
Maintain accurate field notes, logs, and records.
Draft commissioning reports, findings, and recommendations.
Help update or prepare system manuals, operations and maintenance (O&M) documentation, and commissioning logs.
Communicate with building owners, facility managers, and contractors to coordinate site access and activities.
Attend project meetings and support documentation of action items or updates.
Assist in identifying low-cost or no-cost energy savings opportunities through EBCx processes.
Support Facility Condition Assessment Projects:
Review drawings and existing documentation
Apply knowledge of building condition assessment processes and technical standards in performing building evaluations associated with capital planning of commercial and municipal facilities.
Determine and identify system type, condition, remaining useful life and significant physical deficiencies of building components and systems based on visual inspection.
