Position SummaryUnder the direction of management, this position performs a variety of operations relating to the administrative functions and statutory responsibilities for the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The position requires the incumbent to communicate with co-workers, management, judges, elected officials and the public in a courteous and professional manner.Essential FunctionsAttend all Board of County Commissioner meetings, including joint meetingsAccurately document Commissioners' motions verbatimCreate the Board of County Commissioner meeting minutesObtain signatures from the BOCC Chair and Clerk for official meeting minutesRoute municipal documents for Clerk's signature and maintain signature tracking sheetScan and file official meeting documentation in accordance with scheduled meeting datesProcess requests for copies of Commission and Official RecordsReceipt petitions and assist with the Value Adjustment Board processAccept entry level documents for recording and verify statutory requirementsCalculate and receipt related service feesIndex and scan documents into the official record of Martin CountyMaintain compliance with Chapter 119, Florida Statutes and other statutory provisionsMaintain current knowledge of best practices, court rules, statutes, administrative code, regulatory, and legislative developments to ensure proper application to division practices NOTE: The omission of an essential function of work does not preclude the Clerk of Court from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position. Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesThis position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalency diploma.

Two year or four-year degree from an accredited school is desirable, and special consideration will be given to applicants who possess a degree of higher learning, or to those who are fluent in a secondary language. Exceptional recent relevant and related work experience and/or education may be considered in lieu of the minimum requirements on a year for year basis.Knowledge of the functions and organization of the Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller office, county divisions and municipalitiesKnowledge of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuationProficiency in Microsoft Office programsAbility to work with a personal computer in a Windows environmentAbility to utilize scanning equipmentAbility to communicate serious problems and important issues to managementAbility to answer phones and transfer calls using standard office proceduresAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment, where timeliness and accuracy are of critical importanceAbility to effectively communicate both orally and in writingAbility to make sound, independent decisionsAbility to effectively follow written and oral instructionsAbility to receipt money and balance a cash drawer dailyAbility to meet deadlinesSupplemental InformationSupervisory responsibilities: None ADA COMPLIANCE: Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some occasional lifting carrying pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.

Sensory Requirements : Some tasks require the ability to perceive and differentiate visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally. Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed without exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
