TradeSTAR is partnering with a respected low-voltage contractor seeking entry-level to early-career structured cabling technicians for commercial projects across the Austin area. If you ve got hands-on experience and want to build a long-term career in telecom, this is your opportunity.
What You ll Do
- Pull, route, and label Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cable
- Install support structures like J-hooks, bridle rings, and cable tray
- Assist with workstation outlet terminations (110-style, modular jacks)
- Support closet buildouts and basic rack/patch panel work
- Follow prints and direction from lead techs on commercial job sites
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- 6 months to 2 years of structured cabling or telecom experience
- Basic knowledge of low-voltage cabling systems and tools
- Experience pulling and identifying cable in commercial environments
- Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards is a plus
- Ability to work on ladders and lifts when needed
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced techs
