Commercial Real Estate Lending Attorney (Plantation Office)

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Real Estate Lending Attorney with 7+ years of experience for our Plantation, Florida office. This role sits at the intersection of our Real Estate and Commercial Lending & Finance practices and will focus on representing institutional and private lenders in complex financing transactions secured by commercial real estate and related assets. The ideal candidate must be able to independently manage transactions from inception to closing across real estate and secured lending matters. A portable book of business is not required, but highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage, structure, document, and negotiate complex real estate lending transactions from inception through closing
• Represent banks, institutional and private lenders, and other financial institutions in commercial mortgage loans, construction loans, bridge loans, mezzanine financings, syndicated credit facilities, and other secured financing transactions
• Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements, mortgages, security agreements, guaranties, intercreditor agreements, and related financing documents
• Conduct and manage transaction due diligence, including review of title reports, surveys, leases, zoning matters, organizational documents, and other collateral-related materials
• Advise clients on deal structure, risk allocation, collateral issues, and financing terms
• Coordinate closings and manage communications with borrowers’ counsel, lenders’ counsel, title companies, consultants, and other third parties
• Collaborate with attorneys across Real Estate and Commercial Lending & Finance practices on complex, sophisticated transactions
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development efforts across both practice groups
• Supervise and train junior attorneys within the practice area

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• License to practice law in good standing in Florida
• 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, secured lending, or structured finance transactions, primarily in Florida
• Extensive experience representing lenders in complex financing transactions, including commercial real estate loans, construction financings, mezzanine debt, and syndicated credit facilities
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage and close transactions from inception through closing
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Portable book of business strongly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to interact directly with clients, counterparties, and third-party advisors
