Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking a first- or second-year associate to join its Real Estate Practice Group in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career attorney to build a strong foundation in commercial real estate finance while working closely with experienced attorneys across multiple office locations.
The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to develop within a collaborative, team-driven environment, with increasing levels of responsibility and client exposure.
The Role
- Join a high-volume real estate finance practice and gain hands‑on exposure to commercial lending transactions from day one
- Work closely with partners and senior attorneys who are dedicated to mentorship and providing real‑time feedback
- Assist with due diligence and coordinate closing checklists and logistics for transactions
- Review third‑party reports and documents under supervision
- Support the drafting and review of loan documents and related transaction materials
- Participate in communications with clients, opposing counsel, and other transaction parties
- Collaborate with attorneys across a national platform
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice (or eligible for admission) in New Jersey
- Approximately 1–2 years of experience in commercial real estate finance or a related transactional practice area
- Recent graduates with a demonstrated interest in real estate finance and a commitment to practicing in New Jersey are encouraged to apply
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team‑oriented mindset and eagerness to learn
- Prior experience representing lenders is a plus, but not required
