Position Overview
Our esteemed law firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Litigation Attorney to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a fast‑paced environment where you will handle complex litigation matters, manage case files, and represent clients in court. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in litigation, with a focus on hearing and trial preparation.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in court and before government agencies.
- Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during the course of a trial.
- Study and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
- Present and summarize cases to judges and juries.
- Prepare legal briefs and opinions, and file appeals in state and federal courts of appeal.
- Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents.
- Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
- Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case.
- Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
- Supervise legal assistants and junior attorneys, and manage relationships with clients.
Qualifications
- A Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
- A license to practice law in the state of TX.
- A minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a strong understanding of hearing and trial preparation.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, judges, and juries.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to handle complex legal issues.
- Experience in managing multiple cases and the ability to work under pressure.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- A high degree of professional ethics and integrity.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
