Commercial Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Attorney in Providence, Rhode Island. This position offers the chance to engage in complex disputes involving commercial, construction, real estate, and land use matters, with opportunities to handle cases through trial and appeal.

Duties

• Handle a variety of commercial and business litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Manage discovery, depositions, hearings, negotiations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Represent clients in disputes involving real estate, construction, business/corporate matters, and land use.
• Assist with matters before courts and administrative agencies.
• Work closely with experienced attorneys on complex cases that may proceed through trial and appeal.

Requirements

• 2+ years of commercial litigation experience.
• Strong litigation and legal writing skills.
• Experience with real estate, construction, land use, or administrative law is highly valued.
• Comfortable handling matters throughout the litigation lifecycle.
• Strong analytical, communication, and case-management abilities.
• Rhode Island Bar admission preferred.
• Able to meet a 1,800-hour annual billable requirement.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admission to the Rhode Island Bar preferred.
