This Commercial Litigation Attorney in Chicago role offers exposure to complex, high-value litigation with a strong emphasis on Corporate Governance, Ownership and Merger/Acquisition Disputes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Litigation Attorney in Chicago seeking sophisticated contentious work, genuine responsibility, and the opportunity to join a highly respected specialist practice with a strong reputation in its field.
The Role:
- Advising on complex business litigation with a focus on Corporate Governance, Ownership and Merger/Acquisition Disputes
- Manage complex matters through all phases of litigation or arbitration
- Draft pleadings, briefs, dispositive motions, and other substantive filings
- Lead written and fact discovery, coordinate document review and production, prepare witnesses, and take and defend depositions
- Managing discovery processes and developing case strategy
- Supporting trial preparation and participating in trial proceedings
- Negotiating settlements and achieving commercially focused client outcomes
- Working closely with senior attorneys on business-critical disputes
- Acting for a high-quality client base including developers, investors and landlords
The Candidate:
- Qualified Commercial Litigation Attorney with 3-6 years experience
- Strong background in M&A and general business litigation
- Experience across the full lifecycle of litigation matters
- Commercially astute with strong technical and analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build client relationships
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in Illinois
- Highly organized with strong time-management capabilities
- Able to work independently within a collaborative, specialist team
