Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate for its Tampa, Florida office. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience and a commitment to fostering a collegial office culture. Preferred experience includes real estate, consumer finance, and construction litigation, with a history of handling all phases of complex commercial litigation.

Duties

• Conduct fact investigation and legal research.
• Draft discovery and prepare pleadings.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Participate in mediations.
• Communicate with opposing counsel and clients.
• Appear in court for motions and pre-hearing proceedings.
• Engage in trial experience.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
• Admission to the Florida bar.
• Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organization skills.
• Outstanding judgement.
• Ability to effectively manage internal and external deadlines.
• Ability to develop and implement legal strategies.
• Civil litigation case management experience, preferably in both State and Federal Courts.

Education

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Florida Bar.
