Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Commercial Litigation Associate in Short Hills, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of complex litigation experience, particularly in insurance coverage litigation, and will work collaboratively with partners and clients.

Duties

  • Manage all aspects of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda.
  • Prepare briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle discovery processes, including documents, written discovery, and depositions.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
  • Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, drafting coverage opinions and related analyses.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of complex litigation experience.
  • Strong writing and case management skills.
  • Experience handling clients and adversaries.
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Deposition and court experience preferred.
  • Previous law firm experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with insurance coverage litigation preferred.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.

Certifications

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and be in good standing.
