The Account Manager is committed to providing the highest service and quality standards set forth by the agency. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established company and gain valuable experience working in a professional atmosphere.Competitive compensation, 401k, health insurance, short term & long term disability, dental & vision options are voluntary, paid time off, vacation and sick time, flex holidays, charitable PTO day to serve a local Non-profit organization, supportive and collaborative team environment, modern work space equipped with onsite garage parking, break room, outdoor patio, and gym - all free to use by employees.Primary RoleDay-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned Commercial Lines accounts, including but not limited to:Maintaining a high level of client service and satisfactionMarketing & placement of renewal accounts as appropriateAchieving agency account retention goals through proactive account rounding, up-selling of limits and coverages, and by providing extraordinary client serviceEssential DutiesUses company guidelines and independent judgement to prequalify accounts, recommend coverage, and cross-sell lines of businessPrepares underwriting submissions for new and renewal business, including assistance with completing supplemental applications and ACORD applicationsPrepares insurance proposals for the sale and renewal of commercial lines businessMaintains client files and ensure proper documentation by processing all policies, endorsements, binders, certificates of insurance, notices, etc.Negotiates terms and conditions with insurance carriers, including coverage and pricing.

Issue requests to bind, endorse, and cancel coveragePrepares invoices, review audits, and collect forms of payment for insurance premium purposesInteracts with customers and carrier representatives, including handling service matters, complaints, disputes, and resolving grievancesResponds and consults with customers by means of professional communication including e-mail, mail, phone, fax, text, and video conferenceTransacts customary business, run reports, quote, and setup activities using web based platforms and agency management systemsSuccessfully complete continuing education and certification courses for professional licensing and development purposesAdditional DutiesAlways keeps a professional appearance, positive attitude, and tidy work areaAbility to organize, prioritize and work under pressure at times; team playerKeeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and stay currentInteracts with others effectively by utilizing good communications skills, cooperates positively and provides information and guidance, as needed, to contribute to the business efforts of the agencyPerform other miscellaneous duties as assignedQualifications & ExperienceAppropriate State license(s). Minimum 2-3 years' insurance brokerage or equivalent experience.Extensive knowledge of all lines of commercial insurance, including sophisticated and less common coverages, especially those products represented through agencyThorough knowledge of brokerage operations including claims handling, procedures, commercial lines rating, agency management system, and applicable insurance laws/codesExperience and expertise in operating in electronic environment; excellent automation skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, document management software, carrier proprietary systems, and phone systemsFamiliarity with risk assessment and risk management techniquesExcellent time management, organizational and verbal and written communication skillsHigh degree of self-motivation and self-direction
